How to extend the life of neodymium magnets

Here we will introduce ways to extend the life of rare earth magnets.
1. Store with non-magnetic materials
Choose a non-magnetic material such as a wooden box to store the magnet.
2. Store in a dry place
Rare earth metals react very strongly with oxygen, so rare earth magnets are very susceptible to rust. When rusting, the magnetic force will weaken, so it must be stored in a dry place. Rare earth magnets are often plated with a protective layer before leaving the factory: nickel, zinc, gold, epoxy, phosphate
3. Avoid high temperatures and special environments
Rare earth magnets are more sensitive to heat than other magnets, so use or store them in an environment of 50 ° C or below if possible. In addition, avoid special environments that use corrosive gases, strong acids, strong alkalis, and organic solvents.
4. Pay attention to the direction of the magnet
When storing multiple magnets, they may react with each other if they are placed on the top, bottom, left or right, and the direction of the magnet may change. In addition, as it may cause damage, align the magnet before storing it.
5. Avoid impact
Impact not only causes cracks and chips, but also causes the magnetic molecules in the magnet to be disturbed and demagnetized, avoid places where it may fall, and slowly put it on the ground.
Although neodymium magnets are magnets with relatively little demagnetization ability, they cannot be used stably and for a long time in any environment. In order not to reduce the performance of the magnet, please pay attention to the use of the environment and storage method.
